KARDEMIR Steel Factory

The foundations of Kardemir that is the first integrated iron and steel factory of Turkey were laid by the term Prime Minister İsmet İnönü on 10th September of 1939 as one of the national industrialisations moves of the founder of their republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. They fired up their first blast furnace on 9th September 1939 and on the following day, 10th September 1939, they produced the first Turkish Iron.

They actualised the project designing, manufacturing and installation of a large number of major industrial plants by leading their country’ s industrial enterprises. Therefore; they are known in Turkey as “the factory establishing factories” and memorialized by this name.

Istanbul SABİHA GÖKÇEN Airport

Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport  is one of three international airports serving Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey. Located 32 km (20 mi) southeast of the city center, Sabiha Gökçen Airport is in the Asian part of the bi-continental Istanbul and serves as the hub for some airlines, including Pegasus Airlines as well as a secondary base for Turkish Airlines and Borajet.

Although Istanbul Airport, located 63 km (39 mi) away on the European side of Istanbul, is larger, Sabiha Gökçen is still one of the largest airports in the country.

BARTIN Cement Factory

Located in the Western Black Sea Region in Turkey, Bartın Cement was a public sector company until 1993, when it was sold to the private sector through the privatization efforts of the time. SANKO acquired the company in 2005. Bartın Cement has a production capacity of 1 million metric tons of clinker and 1.5 million metric tons of cement per year.

QURAYYAH Independent Power Project

Qurayyah IPP (QIPP) is a large gas and fuel oil fired combined cycle power station in Qurayyah, Saudi Arabia.

The project is being developed on a BOO (Build Own Operate) basis, with finance from international banks (HSBC, Standard Chartered, SMBC) and numerous local banks (Banque Saudi Fransi, National Commercial Bank, Samba, Arab National Bank, Saudi British Bank and Saudi Hollandi Bank).

The power station consists of six identical groups of equipment provided by Siemens, each with a net output of 654.5 MW. Each block has a 2+2+1 configuration consisting of two SGT6-5000F Combustion Turbines, two Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and one SST6-4000 Steam Turbine. At 52%, it is the most efficient power station of its kind in the country, and one of the largest in the world, at 3,927 MW.
